These Airstreams have been designed specifically for Camp Silver by the designer Christopher Deam from San Francisco. The Airstream has been an American icon since the 1930s, linked to some of the biggest moments in the history of the USA. When the crew of Apollo 11 returned to Earth from the Moon, they went into quarantine in an Airstream. John F. Kennedy even used an Airstream as a mobile office for a while too.
The Airstreams have been fitted out as comfortable double hotel rooms. They feature underfloor heating, air conditioning, a lounge sofa and a flat screen TV. The sleeping platform has either a double bed or two single beds, equipped with Talalay embrace mattresses. The beds are made up with 100% Egyptian cotton bed linen. The bathroom has a stainless steel finish with a basin, hotel hair dryer, toilet and a powerful shower, and includes Frette bath linen and Aesop toiletries.
Our eight Airstreams are located on a field of seashells behind a shelterbelt of trees, and have a panoramic view of the duck decoy and the old dyke. Your view from this spot takes in breathtaking sunsets and cloudy skies and a blanket of stars at night.
One of the Airstreams has its very own private sauna, located nearby in the wooded shelterbelt. The sauna is made from Californian red cedar wood. The barrel sauna and rain shower are nestled in an enclosure between trees and green shrubs. After a session in the sauna and an ice cold shower you can then relax beneath the rustling canopy of the trees above.
All the Airstreams are fitted with a sun awning and their own patio area. The price for your stay includes a full breakfast buffet in the pavilion, with a range of organic products from the island and the local area.
